With simple control of nozzle pressure and grit, it is possible to obtain various surface finishes. The cleaning operation produces a clean, matt, non-reflective finish which exceeds SA 2.5 standard and is therefore ideal for remote observation and underwater photographic records. Various degrees of coating removal can be obtained from marine growth only, down to bare metal finish.
Cleaning rates in excess of 2.5 SQ meters per hour have been achieved. Deepest project to date has been 183 meters (600 ft) on BP Magnus platform.
 
Extremely low nozzle pressures, 25 to 75 p.s.i. over the ambient water pressure, ensure that it is virtually impossible for the diver to injure himself or damage any associated equipment. Communication is excellent because of the quiet operation and retrojets are not required. This is a major step forward in safety.
